Batalha.

The Alojamento Local do Rossio is located 7 km from the Monastery of Batalha.
The Monastery of Stª Maria da Vitória, better known as the Monastery of Batalha, stands out in Batalha, it was built due to a vow made by D. João I to the Virgin if he won the Battle of Aljubarrota against the Castilians.
Elected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, it is the great monument of the Portuguese late Gothic, having its construction started in 1388.

The Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória
Master Afonso Domingues drew up the foreground: Church, Cloister, the Chapter Room, the workshops and the convent premises.
It has a Latin cross plan, with three naves and an apse with a chancel and four collaterals.
Responsible for the construction of the vaults, the Founder's Chapel, and the Pantheon of D. Duarte (Imperfect Chapels) was Master Huguete, who also introduced the flamboyant Gothic decoration. In the Portal are represented the Apostles, Prophets, Angels and a Christ flanked by the four evangelists. On top of the counter-curved arch, the coats of arms of D. João I and D. Filipa de Lencastre.

Batalha.
 

O Alojamento Local do Rossio fica localizado a 7Km da Batalha.

Destaca-se na Batalha o Mosteiro de Stª Maria da Vitória, mais conhecido por Mosteiro da Batalha, foi construído devido a um voto feito por D. João I à Virgem se vencesse a Batalha de Aljubarrota contra os Castelhanos.
Eleito pela UNESCO como Património Mundial é o grande monumento do gótico final português, teve o seu início de construção em 1388.

O Mosteiro de Stª Maria da Vitória

Mestre Afonso Domingues traçou o primeiro plano: Igreja, Claustro, a Sala do Capítulo, as oficinas e as dependências conventuais.
Possui planta em cruz latina, de três naves e cabeceira com capela-mor e quatro colaterais.

Responsável pela construção das abóbadas, da Capela do Fundador, e do Panteão de D. Duarte (Capelas Imperfeitas) foi o Mestre Huguete, que introduz também a decoração do gótico flamejante. No Portal estão representados os Apóstolos, Profetas, Anjos e um Cristo ladeado pelos quatro evangelistas.
No topo do arco contra curvado, as armas de D. João I e D. Filipa de Lencastre.

Fátima Sanctuary.

The Alojamento Local do Rossio is located 13 km from Fátima.

Fátima is today considered by many as the Altar of the World, where it smells of promises and burnt candles and where millions of pilgrims flock, driven by the greatest force in the world: faith. Fátima, city of Peace. Land of Miracles and Apparitions.

On May 13, 1917, in Cova da Iria, a few kilometers from Fátima, 3 humble children glimpsed a light, where the Chapel of the Apparitions is now located. The Virgin asked her to pray a lot for the good of the world, and announced that she would return during the next months, every 13th. The last apparition took place in October, being witnessed by about 70,000 pilgrims who attended the Miracle of the Sun .

A 13 de Maio de 1917, na Cova da Iría, a poucos quilómetros de Fátima, 3 humildes crianças vislumbraram um clarão, onde agora se localiza a Capela das Aparições.

A Virgem pediu-lhe que rezassem muito pelo bem do mundo, e anunciou que voltaria durante os próximos meses, a todos os dias 13.

A última Aparição ocorreu no mês de Outubro, sendo presenciada por cerca de 70.000 peregrinos que assistiram ao Milagre do Sol.

Leiria.

Capital de distrito, Leiria nasceu no morro do castelo. Por lá passaram Romanos, Visigodos e Àrabes. Com a afirmação da fé cristã e expansão do reino, D. Afonso Henriques, toma o castelo aos mouros em 1135. Data de 1195 o último ataque aos muçulmanos, mas o burgo continuará a viver dentro das muralhas do castelo, até ao séc. XIII, com excepção da igreja de S. Pedro, templo românico, fundado junto às portas do castelo.
 

De tempos mais recentes é a Sé Catedral, o Convento de Santo Agostinho, a Igreja da Misericórdia e o Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, de onde o visitante pode apreciar uma bela panorâmica do centro e arredores de Leiria.

Ainda na cidade, o Largo Cândido dos Reis enche-se durante a noite de gente que frequenta o mais conhecido Terreiro da Região, pela existência de vários bares que animam a parte velha da cidade.
